[ale] hard drive won't mount

Yep, that's the DMA problem that was posted earlier. There is another
CRC error that is indicative of hardware failure that won't have the
dma_intr: string. I no longer have an example as I tossed the drives and
it went away.
Check that the DMA mode being used is really supported by the drive.
