Dow:
( not that the discussion on teacher salaries and learning theories isn't fascinating --- my wife
teaches 4th grade in Gwinnett County and works year-round to be a better teacher)
BUT CAN WE GET ORGANANIZED to see about relieving the school system of at least part of the Micro$oft Tax, and inviting students into the Linux / OpenSource Universe ???
WHAT SAY WE:
1) put it on the agenda for the next ALE meeting
2) see who'd like to meet in metro Atlanta for a brainstorming session
3) open a discussion board somewhere
4) establish a mobile learning center demo (like LTSP on laptops, or whatever)
4) whatever else would result in ACTION and PROGRESS
As my new bumpersticker says "Actions speak louder than bumperstickers"
Thanks,
Tom
ps Notice I didn't even mention Ritalin or schools that are built like prisons?
