[ale] gui start up gif?

Depends on which app you're using to start X (xdm,
gdm, kdm).  You can get the code for any of them.  As
far as how...not sure without looking through the
code.  One of the nice things about open source is
that when you come across an app you wished worked
differently, you can just grab it and go!
