ALErs -
I signed up with Telocity when NorthPoint stuck it's legs up in the air, a
bit less than a year ago. (Seems like ages!) From the first, I found that
Telocity did not support reverse-address resolution (RAPR?). Indeed I was
(and am) unable to access certain servers including GA Tech's
'ftp-linux', which is sometimes frustrating. It is nothing new, and
applies to my pre-DirecTV account.
I do run a minimal server (ssh only) from my Telocity DSL account. I don't
have a domain name directed at my IP, but expect to do so. I am interested
in why the absence of RARP support should prevent my running a server as
one writer suggested, or prevent its being accessed against a legitimately
resolved domain name.

It looks as though there is [some confusion].
Thanks for any comments
