[ale] OT: Java jar files

A .jar file has to be added to the CLASSPATH itself,
not just the directory it resides in. So if
crimson.jar is in /usr/java/classes, for example, you
would do something like:
export
CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/usr/java/classes/crimson.jar
