Oops, I guess I should say I'm running RH7.1, kernel 2.4.9-6.

Subject: [ale] Set MAC address on bootup
I have bridged DSL from BS, and I replaced my linksys router a few months
ago. This is the DSL that edits the MAC address before it gives out an IP
address. So, every time I boot up, I bring down my NIC (ifconfig eth0 down),
then assign it the MAC address of my old linksys router (ifconfig eth0 hw
ether MAC_ADDRESS), then bring up the NIC (ifconfig eth0 up), then go into
control panel (control-panel) and activate eth0 to get my IP address from
BellSouth.
Is there any way to automate assigning this new MAC address at startup so I
don't have to do any manual config when I reboot?
Thank you,
Mike Millson
