[ale] Linux laptops

I'm sure this has probably been hashed throughout the world BUT... I'm
getting ready to purchase a laptop to replace my desktop. Linux will
be the only OS installed. I have a few basic requirements:

DVD (those DVD/CDRW look inviting)
Sound
15" display
Atleast 512MB Ram
1ghz (AMD would be nice, but it looks like a Pentium dominated market)
USB
External monitor and keyboard support
Built-in NIC.

As you can see, I'm not picky. I just need to get some work done and
not wear myself out carrying this thing around. While there are lots
of articles on just about every model made, I'm looking for word of
mouth experience. You can email me direct to keep from annoying those
who've heard it all before.
