[ale] missing dependencies under Redhat.........

I should know better than to assume.  I just assumed that since
"up2date" runs a nice GUI application with no options, that was the
only way to run it.  Ha.

Now I know.  Next time I help out a RH user I'll teach that trick to
'em.
