although the rpm dependency-hell has been getting worse over the past two or
three years it seems to be worse with MDK than with RH. as for me, this was
what finally pushed me over to debian and apt-get. apt-get can be a little
taxing at times especially if you're like me and on a dial up in rural
georgia. none the less i dont spend time downloading 10 megs of files only
to be told that they are not compatible with the others that i need/use. I
download only what is needed and if the connection is broken then it will
start up where it left off.
that said, i've been told that there is an apt-rpm now. you might consider
that

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of DOS,
and danced the skies on Linux silvered wings.
