At the moment, I'm not sure you'd want to.. as I don't think there are any drivers out for all the stuff the tablet's do (capacitive touch screen, or how ever that works..). However, might not be too long before those exist.

As far as a laptop without XP, yes, you can find ones without it (w2k instead) but, you'll pay more.  I'm not aware of any shipping laptops that allow you to escape the Microsoft tax but, that doesn't mean they don't exist.  I've always found PCmall and DataComm Warehouse to offer the most options. There is also a place called "Deer Park" in New Jersey, I haven't dealt with them in a long time but, they were generally pretty good.

I found that function. It is not very capable, it seems. But some things
do seem to be working better.

At some point, I will need to replace my laptop. It looks like they ALL
come with XP. I wonder if I can order a M$ tablet PC with a blank hard
drive?
