[ale] Trying to get cdrecord to work

Did you remember to add the scsi parameter in your grub.conf?  Mine is
as follows:

title Red Hat Linux (2.4.20-pre10)
        root (hd1,0)
        kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-pre10 ro root=/dev/hdb3 hdd=ide-scsi
        initrd /initrd-2.4.20-pre10.img

note the end of the 3rd line.
