[ale] Trying to get cdrecord to work

I am running RH 7.1 w/ a 2.4.9-31 kernel. I just installed a Plextor CD-R/RW
ATAPI drive. It works fine reading CDs, and now I'm trying to get up to
speed burning CDs. I had mkisofs on my system, but cdrecord was not
installed, so I installed the rpm cdrecord-1.10-14.i386.rpm from the RedHat
site.

When I do cdrecord -scanbus I get the following responses:
cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver.

>From what I gather about cdrecord, it uses scsi emulation. I have "SCSI
emulation support" included in the kernel as a module, but I do not have
"SCSI Support" included in the kernel. Is this my problem? Do I need to
build in SCSI support in addition to SCSI emulation support?

Thank you,
Mike
