[ale] Red Hat on old Laptop

Did you select the laptop setup during the install? I suspect the pcmcia
stuff is not installed. Reboot from installation CD (or boot floppy) and
"upgrade" and install the pcmcia card stuff. You can do it from a
running installation, but the installer will work out all the
dependencies for you.
