[ale] How to put HPT372 module into the kernel at boot properly?

I switched from Gentoo back to SuSE 8.0 and solved the problem with a
Support Database howto they had published on the method to incorporate
the module into the initrd image used in the boot process. I couldn't
do it with a presetup RAID but once I deleted the RAID in the BIOS
utility, I was good to go. The process worked fine. I haven't tried
making the second drive a mirror yet. Will try that soon.

I am not familiar enough yet with the GRUB vs LILO process, especially
when you throw initrd into the fray. I've read some but not worked on
the process myself. It may be as simple as adapting Gentoo to use initrd.
