[ale] home networking difficulties

Just a note below, which is not any help. I'm not sure what the problem
could be. Since you were able to fire up tcpdump and see the ping
request from the windows box, it would appear that you've got physical
connectivity. I guess I'd check the cables and such to insure they're
good, proper type and seated securely.
What are the speeds of the cards/hub? I had a problem with a 10/100
card connected to a switch one time, it wouldn't properly work. Worked
fine with a 10mb hub.
Anyone else see anything unusual???

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
