Byron:
df -h shows only two partitions: / and /home
Again, I removed the lprng package, verified that /etc/lprng was gone, then reinstalled. When it tries to start after installation, it errors on missing file /etc/lprng/lpd.conf, which indeed is missing. Only printcap -> ../printcap exists in that dir.
I just used dpkg-deb to extract the package contents to /tmp/lprng:
#dpkg-deb --vextract /var/cache/apt/archives/lprng_3.8.10_1_i386.deb /tmp/lprng
and then I copied lpr.conf, lpr.conf.local and a third ( whose name I didn't record ) to /etc/lprng, then I was able to perform /etc/init.d/lprng start without error.
This leads me to think that I can't trust this partition anymore.
Thanks,
Tom
