[ale] KDE 3.0.2 for RedHat available

You need to first install rpm-find. It will allow searching and grabbing
all the needed dependencies in one big grab and install.

Otherwise, you will need to install all the needed stuff as listed. The
exception are the *-devel packages. They need to be removed. Upgrades
don't work unless the *-devel package is in the to-be-upgrade d list of
rpms. Some details below:

Remove the kdebase-devel-3.0.0-12

solved by above

Get all these rpms and put them in the same directory. From that
directory run: rpm -Uvh *.rpm" after the devel package is removed.

You may need to get some other packages to add to the directory based on
the output of the upgrade command.

Big, huge, multi-lib environments like KDE and Gnome are really hard to
upgrade. It doesn't matter what form it is in. RPM or DEB, it is _still_
a bunch of downloads. Slackware tarballs might actually be easier here!
