I thought the same too, I just checked out the docs and it says that it 
will just call the appropriate interpeter, so it's not native to the 
kernel, just saves you a bit of typing.  It's still going to run the jre.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
