[ale] Software Mirrors

Is the kernel software mirroring CPU/RAM intensive?  I'm thinking of 
setting up a mirrored file server on an old Pentium box, with about 32 
MB RAM.  This is not going to be hammered on by dozens of users, but is 
only for use at home.  What am I going to regret if I take this strategy?
