Because Ken and Dennis had previous experiences in Multics, then created 
this new thing called UNIX reduces the value of their work?  Come on. 
Very few folks create something without leveraging that which they 
already know.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
