yes, but the fundamental development of UNIX from that point on was in
Universities and NOT corporations. Without the universities, UNIX would
have stayed a pet project.
Its a symbiotic relationship ship folks. You need BOTH academia and
industry for true innovation and creativity to occur.

p.s. and yes, I have lived in both worlds. Decided that living in both
at the same time was much more enjoyable than either one alone :)
