[ale] newbie question:using a TV as a monitor

Additional info:

Regardless what the monitor plugged in to the xVGA port of your machine is
doing, the TV will ALWAYS be doing 640x480 60Hz interlaced.  It's what
TV's do.  Additionally, the dot pitch on a TV is usually pretty atrocious.
If you run at 640x480, expect a blurry, flickery picture.  If you run at
800x600, expect a blurry, flickery, downconverted picture.  Go ahead and
do it if you are intending to use your box for multimedia presentation,
but whatever you do, DO NOT try to use your TV in place of a monitor; your
eyesight will regret it.
