[ale] hardware Q for gurus

ive got a ibm thinkpad laptop, its an oldie pentium
133  well i hate that boot logo for it and also i cant
get the password i put on it changed or removed...
plus config in the bios suck so i was wondering its
id# is 760cd that will id it at the ibm site if you
guys check it out.. im just wondering what bios i can
put on it? im wanting to try that linux bios on it but
i wanted some smart guys inputs first before i
rendured my laptop useless... can i just slap regular
bios on a laptop? will it matter? input would be
greatly appreciated
