Paul,
First of all, thanks for taking the time to help me. I ran the "modprobe
es1371" command and it returned with no errors but it didn't help. I already
edited /etc/modules file to say:
alias sound-slot-0 es1371
but that didn't help.

you might have to add the support in by hand. Try
the command modprobe es1371. If that returns without
an error message then you can investigate adding the
driver support to /etc/modules.conf. Its not
difficult.
