[ale] ethernet switch issues

Unless you have an off the wall Linksys, I don't believe that it can be set
(I don't believe that the Linksys PCIs have any dips or jumpers on them).
Just curious, but what driver are you using with the Linksys? I just
finished fighting with one on Sat that would have partial network functions
while using the tulip driver and worked like a dream when I got the 4.0
driver from Linksys's Web Site.
