[ale] ethernet switch issues

One is a netgear, the other is a linksys.  Both have leds on the back of
the cards that indicate they are going to 100/full duplex.  Obviously I
would suspect the Linksys card before the netgear, since the switch is
netgear.  I'm going to dig out the docs on these cards to see if there
are any dips I can set that will force them to 100.
