[ale] Anyone used an LG CD-RW drive?

In my habitual cheapskate fashion, I found IDE-ATAPI 8x/4x/32x CD-RW drives at Best Buy for $99 w/$30 rebate. Brand is 'LG', model is 'CED-8080B'. Comes with copy of Adaptec 'CD Creator 4'. Anyone used these w/Linux? Any experience you're willing to share?

TIA for any comments - I could still return it today or tomorrow if it's a known lemon.
