Greetings Ale,

Apologies for the OT post...I'm not getting any response trying to join
the PHP support lists and I thought one of you guys might have the answer
to this.

I'm trying to upgrade from php 4.0.3pl1 to php 4.0.4pl1 to avoid the
security hole in the older versions. I've got it compiled as a static
module in apache (1.3.14) and I'm almost certain that I used the static
install for php4.0.3 as well. I've done this successfully on 3 other
boxen, the only difference is I'm not 100% sure whether this was
originally set up as a static module or DSO.

So PHP configures and compiles great, apache with mod_ssl configures and
compiles great...and phpinfo(); tells me I'm still running 4.0.3pl1 after
an apache restart. I didn't have my original source directories, all this
stuff is from newly-unzipped files today (so no old config or
config.cache files hanging
about). Every PHP4 module and library I can find shows that it was
replaced today when I re-installed php. So what can I be missing??

I can't find the answer on the faq or in the documentation...and devshed
is really ugly when all you've got is lynx.

Thanks for any help!

jenn
