The BP6 has two hard disk controllers, the Intel PIIX4 contrpller and
teh Highpoint HPT366 chip.

The 2.2.x kernel does not support the HPT366 chip unless you patch the
kernel with the backport of the IDE subsystem from the 2.4 kernel.

So, plug your drive into the black connectonr on the board, not the
white ones.
