Hey Chris (and Ale'rs),
I finally got a chance to wrangle with this IBM 6091 you gave me but I'm
having some trouble getting a readable image on the screen. Wondering if
you might have some advice on it. My plan is to run it as a second monitor
using the Xinerama extensions. I've been doing this already with a 15"
monitor alongside my 17" so that part of the setup is good. I've run into
trouble figuring out what modelines to use with my ATI 3D Rage II. I've
tried everything I could find at:
http://www.lysator.liu.se/~jonass/linux6091.html
But all I get is a scrolling screen of colored lines with black every
other line and no discernable image. I can tell the desktop is "there"
though because if I move windows around, the lines change color. So I'd
like to know what type of video card you were using with it. If I can get
a Matrox, I'll try that. I'm confident though that the card I have should
be compatible, I think I'm just doing something wrong. Any help would be
appreciated.
