[ale] apt-get alternative?

well i have one other question... debian has apt-get a
sweet little auto download and install agent... is
there one for rpms? apt-get if im right also does
source automatically compiling, configureing, and
installing.. but i wouldnt know how to conform apt-get
to a suse system for instance or red hat.. but i
really like it... any suggestions? comments?
