[ale] Apache Config question

Last week Apache was running fine. The server root is the standard
install location (I'm using SuSE 6.4 if there is a difference, but I don't
think there is) and the document root is set to /home/wwwsite. Saturday
or Sunday I at first though I might of been hacked so I changed
permissions from easy local (i know i know it's not very secure, but
<shrug>) to easy secure with YAST. Upon further investigation I
discovered that it was kmuser that seemed to be causing the problems with
my user management, but I won't bother with all that since it's not my
question. So now, I've changed the permissions back to easy local with
YAST, but apache is still denying access for anyone requesting the web
addy, both local and from the net.
I've reread the httpd.conf file multiple times, and I don't see a single
difference. Any ideas on what the problem is? If there is any more info
that you need let me know and i'll be glad to post it as well.
thanks,
drew
