The Athlons are notorious for needing "good" power supplies -- to the
point where AMD even recommends certian types.

Usually components can handle a +- 5-10% difference in supply voltage..
but yeah, you shouldn't be setting off alarms.  Sounds like the PS might
be the culprit.

I had a bad power supply that was causing random crashes (on a K6-233
system.. very heavily loaded..)  I swapped it, crashes went away.   I
still have the PS though, and I use it as a bench supply.  :)
