[ale] Stupid user tricks when building a new kernel...

(Assuming LILO boot)
At the "boot:" prompt, try
linux root=/dev/hda5
If this is a non-LILO kernel image floppy, try changing the root device with
# rdev /dev/fd0 /dev/hda5
Typically the default root device is set to the root at build time.
