BIND 8 does handle DDNS, and it is pretty straightforward to configure. I've
been using it in a mixed Linux/NT/Win98 environment for a few months with
no problems to speak of.  NT, 98, Linux, BIND, and Samba all play nicely
together,
but I'm not using WINS at all. And this is a very tiny network (5 machines),
so YMMV drastically.

Ah, I just remembered one configuration problem I had: If you "make install"
BIND 8 carelessly, it will overwrite some Glibc header files related to the
Name Service Switch, which causes all kinds of havoc. It took me a week
to figure out why OpenSSH wouldn't build after I installed BIND. Re-installing
the Glibc headers fixed the problem;
