[ale] Wierd telnet error

I've started getting a wierd error when I telnet out of my machine. 

josh at reddwarf:~ > telnet 127.0.0.1
telnet: 127.0.0.1: Name or service not known: No such file or directory
127.0.0.1: Resolver Error 0 (no error)


I've tried to telnet to several machines, and it hasn't worked for any
of them, yet I can telnet to the same machines from other computers.
