SwitchCo, Inc. has just received its first round of financing
(hooray!) and is looking to expand its development staff. We're the
former R&D division of a multi-national telecom group that has been spun
off into an independent venture looking to go public. 90% of our staff
are technical developers. We're a small group not looking to get much
bigger so we are looking for the best who want to be their best. Pay and

benefits are excellent with a very flexible work environment. You will
be challenged to push your skills to their furthest and actually be able
to appreciate and develop the fruits of your labour.

Telecommuting is available but you gotta be in the office for the
free drinks and food! Our dress code is that you must be dressed
(telecommuters excepted) and our work hours are as many as it takes
whenever its needed. We're located on the square in Marietta but may be
moving to even better digs in the next several months. Work environment
is focused on keeping developers productive, not managers' fiefdoms
protected (we have neither managers [yet] nor fiefdoms). If this sounds
good to you please review the following position. If you think you
qualify please send your resume with time availability and salary
requirements to scherrey at switchco.com. Please don't send incomplete data
cause this just demonstrates an inability to follow directions!

Responsibilities will include implementing a distributed computing
environment deployed under Linux, Solaris, and other platforms. Both
systems level and application level development will be involved.

Requires strong C++ abilities; someone familiar with the latest ANSI
features and techniques. Familiarity with the standard library and
writing clean portable code is required. Awareness of common design
patterns and their efficient implementations is expected as well.

Experience using the GNU g++ compiler under Linux and Solaris are
helpful. Other nice to haves are design experience with Booch and/or UML
methodologies, multi-threaded systems, distributed environments, and
scripting languages like Python or Perl. Knowledge of build and
configuration environments like autoconf, make, cvs, etc. are also very
helpful.
