[ale] perl5 install error

It looks like maybe 

1) your version of make is screwed up
2) Your compiler installation (gcc or egcs) is screwed up
3) some library on your system is screwed up

Can you compile "hello world" (gcc -o hello hello.c)

#include <stdio.h>
int main (int argc, char * argv[])
{
	printf ("Hello World!\n");
	return 0;
}
