Disabling auth service (was RE: [ale] sun rpc services)

I have a related question. I'm in the process of hardening a system running
RH Linux 6.2. The system will be a FTP server, thus I only want ports 21
(ftp) and 22 (ssh) open.
I've almost accomplished the goal ... I scan with nmap 2.3b14 and I see
these ports as well as port 113 (auth) open. But I've commented the 'auth'
line in /etc/inetd.conf and SIGHUP'd inetd and port 113 is still open. What
am I missing?
Merry Christmas!

Subject: [ale] sun rpc services
Good Afternoon,
I am running a red Hat 6.2 box and would like to disable the services
running
on port 111. Any suggestions?
Thank You,
Martin Nichols
