[ale] cheap linksys pci cards

Yep. Using one right now. You must build the modules from source and be
sure you have the latest versions from the FTP site. Sorry, I no longer
have the exact address of the site, but there is a pointer on the
Linksys site. In the end, you must have two modules in
/lib/src/modules/2.2.x:

pci-scan.o
tulip.o

Again, do not use earlier versions and don't use the module that comes
with the kernel. Once the modulers are built and in place, use insmod to
load them. After that, you should have eth0 out there in the /dev
directory. Run ifconfig to see if it shows up there too. If it does,
you're in business. I'm using mine for DSL. Once I got over the hump, I
had no problems whatsoever. It's a great, cheap card.
