[ale] cron doesn't seem to do it's job

Ok, basically, I've tried to set up some cron jobs, but they don't seem
the be happening.

After typing, as root, crontab -e, this is what my crontab file looks
like:

*/5 * * * * uptime >/home/httpd/html/uptime.html
0 * * * * /usr/local/seti/seti2/setiathome
0 * * * * /usr/local/seti/seti1/setiathome

However, the uptime (which is the only really noticeable cron job here)
does not update.

I'm sure there's a simple explanation, but right now, I'm puzzled.
