Chris,

You either have to enable NT authentication on your SAMBA server or enable
"plain text passwords" on the NT box.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Rdr\Parameters
    EnablePlainTextPassword = REG_DWORD 0x00000001


Note that enabling "plain text passwords" will result in your NT boxes
sending their logon passwords in clear text over the net. Since telnet and
ftp already do this it may not be of concern in your situation.
