Sounds like a Macronix chipset. I have seen them on SVEC cards among
others. www.macronix.com is chipset manufacturer, but a better idea may
be fcc id lookup at http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/

Brgds,
Brad

Subject: [ale] ID an ethernet chipset for Linux

Does anybody know where I can go to ID an ethernet chipset that will
work under LINUX. I have an old ISA ethernet card that I know works,
yet I can't figure out what kind of chipset it is.
This is what's written on the chip:

MX98905AFC
C9437
TBAA4477.1

Anybody know how I can identify the manufacturer? or chipset?

Thanks,
  Laith E.H.
