[ale] Emacs shell prompt

Hi,

I would like to use a different shell prompt under Emacs shell mode
than I do under my normal xterm-type windows.  Does anyone have a line
I could add to my .emacs for shell-mode only?  

(I use a customized shell prompt with a sabvga.pcf font to display in
the command line.  Looks terrible in shell mode.)
