[ale] Minor challenges seeking answers

If the name of the linux client for netatalk gets back to you, would you
forward same to me please? We are talking iMac here, so a scsi sub-system
isn't quite easily done.
I'm getting concerned that this is going to become a "roll your own"
project in the long run.
