[ale] EIDE vs SCSI

The issue seems to me to be:

When she gets rid of her current machine, does the drive she's buying right
now go with it?
If so, buy cheap!  If not, ask her the follwing question...

What is she doing that she HAS to have SCSI?
My experience is that SCSI is the way to go on server machines - no doubt.
But the reason primarialy is that with SCSI you can save to multiple disks
(as I understand it) with the same 'write' as far as the bus is concerned -
which has major benefits when it comes to mirroring or higher level RAID.

I use EIDE almost all the time and have seen very little actual trouble with
it.  Is it slower?  Well, maybe, but a single user probably would not notice
it that much unless they are really pumping data - not number-crunching! -
actually pumping data (web serving, database work, etc.)
