I'm using Redhat 4.2 along with KDE (snapshot 980513). Anyway, I've trying to
track down a problem for months now. One of KDE's apps KPPP works
intermittently. The first time it always refuses to connect and gives me a
"pppd died" message. The second time it connects OK. Now if I let my computer
sit awhile and then try reconnecting to my ISP I often get "pppd died" messages.
I've found out that rebooting re-enables KPPP. When I get the pppd dies message
I often see the following type error reported in dmesg:
Process pppd (pid: 3334, process nr: 63, stackpage=003b3000)

I'm using ppp-2.2.0f-3. Anyway, I didn't want to bother the KPPP developer if I
have a kernel problem. What do you think? BTW, I'm using a PCMCIA 28.8 modem
(Motorola Montana) along with Linux PCMCIA Card Services 2.9.5.
