[ale] Will a Compaq Proliant 5000 run Linux?

Purchaced a new Proliant 5000 with SCO Openserver 5.0.2
in April. Our International organization is moving to
Linux and we would like to convert to Redhat 4.2 to
be in sync with them. Also the dizzing list of
updates ahead of us to get to the SCO 64 bit version
could be painful and costly.
Anyone got any experience this hardware under Linux, we
are especially concerned about the RAID controller being
