Hey Guys.
I just lost my HD that contained my entire /usr file system! AARGH!! I
thank my lucky stars for tape back up:-).
Until restoration, I write from M$ Exchange (shudder) at work.

Anyways, I was referring to ICMP Masquerading during kernel compile for
the ping prob. The slip support is required for diald to work and is
unrelated to the ping/masquerading issue. Sorry for my cryptic post.

During kernel config, in "Networking Options", under "Protocol specific
masquerading support will be built as modules", you will find []ICMP
masquerading.

Not SLIP, masquerading.

Masquerading is TCP only otherwise. Not even udp packets  will pass.
