We have found that tuning the socket options makes all the difference.

We use
	Socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LODELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192

Try it.  We run full motion video over 100Mbit Ethernet from a CD-ROM
with no lost frames.
